Teaching: Bachelor's/Master's courses in Mathematics with specialisation options in various areas; one of the few locations in Germany offering a Master in Statistics; strong integration in service for other faculties (Engineering, Computer, Natural and Economic Sciences).
Equipment: Parallel computers, WLAN on campus, computer lab with 20 workstations (PC terminals), where subject-relevant software such as Magma, Maple, Matlab, R and SPSS are available.
Research: interdisciplinary integration through cooperations with Natural Sciences, Process Engineering and Systems Theory, as well as the MPI for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems (Magdeburg). Integration in the university's research focus "Dynamic Systems: Systems Theory and Mathematical Methods in Biomedicine and Technology"
Other special features: Additional supervision and counseling available for new students through tutor hours (clearing questions about courses, daily, Mon-Tues 1-7 pm, Fri 1-4 pm) and a mentoring programme (initiative of the departmental student organisation)
