Teaching: Direct and intensive communications between students and teachers. The "PE-Kompass" (482 pages) ensures transparency of the course of study right from the start. Semester sizes of 50 students maximum, regular consultations, intensive support during projects (4-6 students). Close support and many tutorials, mandatory company visits during projects and theses, continuous evaluation.
Equipment: Laboratories continually kept up-to-date: case-study auditorium with 8 work islands for 6 students each, CAD laboratory (8 workstations), 2 electronic classrooms (24 or 12 positions), electronic micro-computer laboratory, optical laboratory, usability laboratory in HD quality with eye tracking and mobile test unit (applied research on information systems, e. g. in the field of automobile engineering).
Research and Development: Up to 2009 teaching in the field of industrial engineering was the priority, always however enriched by applied research in the established industry projects. Research work is continuously performed in the usability laboratory. The intensified orientation on service engineering opens up attractive areas of research. Established contacts, especially with Porsche, Daimler and Audi.
