Teaching: Unique for Biology is the cooperation of three universities: Leibniz University Hannover, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation, as well as the Hannover Medical School. The expertise of three universities is available to the students in all disciplines. LUH: Plant Biology; University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo): Animal biology/zoology/physiology; Hannover Medical School (MHH): Biomedicine/molecular pathology/cell biology.
Equipment: Through the intensive participation of different institutes, a wide range of equipment, including large-scale units and lab rooms is availble for students.
Research: The equipment of three universities is available to the students in Hannover. Because of the participation of numerous professors, there is a wide range of optional required modules available in Biology in Hannover. Each university offers numerous modules according to expertise so that a broad-based training is possible with specialisation in the fifth and sixth semester.
Other special features: The courses available reflect a close integration of theory and practice. Through the polyvalent course structure, students following the Teacher Training course can easily switch to the subject-specific Bachelor's course. Recognition of studies and examinations accomplished is taken care of centrally by the Central Institution for Biology (ZEB).
