Teaching: The Faculty of Physics offers Bachelor, Master and PhD programs, in Romanian, Hungarian an English languages. 5 Bachelor programs are in Romanian, 3 in Hungarian, while 3 Master programs are in English, 2 in Romanian and 1 in Hungarian. The doctoral school focuses on condensed matter physics, chemical physics, medical physics, material sciences, theoretical and computational physics.
Equipment: Experimental apparatus for all kinds of resonance, diffraction and spectroscopic studies are available (spectrometer AVANCE-MASNMR 400 MHz, X-ray diffractometer, Brucker D8 Advanced, spectrometers FTIR, Equinox, Mössbauer Wissenschaftliche Elektronik GmbH 57Co KT 1-5, Raman microscope FRA-106 etc,), parallel computer with 106 processors for numerical calculations and other equipments.
Research: Both experimental and theoretical research is on high level, the Faculty is involved in several international cooperations. The main studied fields are the structural, electric, magnetic and optic properties of advanced materials, spectroscopic studies of systems of biomedical importance and theoretical and computational studies of complex systems (atomic, biological, social etc.)
Research Training Groups: Doctoral school in physics
