Besonderheiten in der Forschung & EntwicklungThe Faculty of Technology in Wels is the largest and strongest research faculty of the FH Oberösterreich: approx. 180 current projects, approx. 10M€ acquired R&D funds per year and approx. 250 R&D employees. Major projects, e.g: Josef-Ressel-Zentrum for innovative multi-body dynamics, Josef-Ressel-Zentrum für thermographic non-destructive testing, K-Zentrum für Feed and Food, Quality, Safety and Innovation, various Interreg projects together with research institutions from Germany and the Czech Republic, and many more.

Besonderheiten in der Förderung wissenschaftlichen NachwuchsesThe FHOÖ career model defines 2 paths for scientific employees ("WMAs"): In the scientific path, academic careers are promoted, in the economic path, economically oriented ones. Experienced "WMAs" on both paths can lead projects in terms of content, organization and finances and can be integrated into teaching. The PhD program of the FHOÖ promotes PhDs through a qualified and structured training, which is offered in addition to the scientific specialization in the form of an accompanying and multi-layered program.

Sonstige BesonderheitenThis international Master’s degree programme meets the demand of the motor vehicle industry for engineers who can combine complex individual components into innovative mechatronic systems with improved or completely new functions and in doing so think and act under consideration of qualitative and cost aspects. The fields of activity of graduates are therefore in the execution and management of mechatronic development projects, in the design and validation of mechatronic vehicle systems or as quality engineers in the field of quality assurance in the product development process.
