Besonderheiten des StudiengangsThe main goal of this study program is to teach how to make man-made mobile systems intelligent and autonomous. Students not only get a strong foundation in the subjects traditionally taught in Mechatronics such as Robotics, Electronics, Automation, and Control Systems, but they also gain a thorough understanding of subjects pertaining specifically to intelligent behavior such as Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Planning and Optimization. This makes the program quite interdisciplinary, but highly focused at the same time.
Maßnahmen zur Förderung der BeschäftigungsbefähigungThe study program is clearly geared towards the automobile, robotics, and automation industry in Germany. Since this industry is increasingly focusing on future enabling technologies to make machines more autonomous and intelligent, the program puts a significant emphasis on building competencies in the areas of machine learning, computer vision, and intelligent algorithms for planning and optimization. The students are thus well prepared to undergo a productive internship in the industry in their fifth semester, which increases their chances of being employed immediately after graduation.
