Besonderheiten des StudiengangsThis is an interdisciplinary study program addressing methods of computer science, mathematics as well as business and economics. Students can choose from a set of compulsory electives according to their personal background and career interest in business analytics practice or research. These electives include basics of computer science, advanced methods of data science and mathematical optimization. In the chosen application area, students have to take a scientific project, which foresees the application of business analytics methods with a partner from industry and/or large data sets.
Fachliche SchwerpunkteThe curriculum follows a quantitative-analytical as well as research-theoretical direction. Interdisciplinary compulsory electives need to be chosen from two areas, namely "Quantitative Methods" and "Methods of Computer Science". These advanced methods of business analytics are investigated in one of two application areas, "Financial Engineering" or "Supply Chain Management".
Außercurriculare AngeboteThe study program is supported by the local student society "X-PLOR", which organizes excursions to partners from industry and supports networking and discussion events with professors and practitioners. A broad variety of student initiatives enable our students to advance their soft-skills as well as develop new capabilities outside of their studies. These initiatives also often provide the opportunity to work with students from other fields and specialities as well as to socialise and network.
