  • Special features regarding teaching
The close link between sound concepts and practical application is a general feature. The students will acquire the skills needed for solving problems independently and in groups. At the start of the course, the focus is on solid teaching of subject knowledge. Even at this stage, problem-solving skills and personal competence are developed with initial relatively short group projects and simulation games. As the course progresses, these specialisations take on an increasingly significant role. There is a strong relation to practice throughout all the phases of study.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
International research with corresponding topics, publications etc. Mostly English teaching content always takes internal aspects into account. Specialities such as ethics and intercultural issues in specific subjects. Lecturers with international experience and guest lecturers are often used. Students bring global experience, work with guest students and partner universities. Mobility extends to all continents. There are enough places available for study semesters, internships, double degrees, scholarships and short stays such as Study Tours.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Northumbria University in Newcastle, Großbritannien; Napier University Cracow, University of Economics in Krakau, Polen; Ljubljana University, Slowenien; Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong; Kyungpook National University in Daegu, Südkorea; Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing in Sao Paulo, Brasilien; University of North Carolina in Greensboro, USA; Vaasa University of Applied Sciences, Finnland; University of Johannesburg, Südafrika; Xiamen University, China.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
Extensive technical resources are available to our students. the university has an e-learning platform, which is used to support the teaching in many ways. The library offers a variety of classical and e-media, which are available flexibly, e.g. via the campus WiFi. Modern IT labs and workstations and a virtual learning environment are used by our students as part of IT lectures, simulations or SAP training. Access to databases is being continuously expanded, for example, access to the Bloomberg terminal.
  • Special features regarding research and development
The courses cooperate with Fraunhofer IAO in the LOGWERT research competence centre. They are responsible for the research competence field Traffic and Logistics at HHN . LOGWERT has 6 academic staff members who work on the development and validation of business models for logistics solutions. In publicly and privately funded projects, electromobility with respect to freight transport takes up a particularly prominent area. All research projects continue to have a close link between the research topics and the ongoing doctoral programs.
  • Support for founders
The university has its own start-up centre (STARTKLAR), which also actively introduces students to the subject of business start-ups and entrepreneurship in the Transport Business Management courses and supports them with a planned business start-up through various consulting and coaching offers and network activities. The networks for company founders in the region have already been expanded successfully.
  • Other special features
The courses are characterised by the close connection of sound concepts and practice. In this way, graduates have excellent job market opportunities, both regionally and nationally. The interest in our graduates is evident, among other things, from the committed involvement of the practice partners in our advisory boards and the ConnectVB association - the network for students, graduates and friends of transport management from Heilbronn.
