  • Special features regarding teaching
The special characteristics of teaching include new teaching and learning formats, such as the "inverted classroom", simulations, educational games, professional application software, educational videos, interactive teaching (technically supported by response systems) and a learning management platform. Some subject-specific lectures are taught in English. Regular lectures by renowned international visiting professors. Support for participation in competitions (e.g. University Trading Challenge, Audit Challenge) reflects the close link between students and teachers.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
Faculty maintains a large network of partner universities worldwide; in addition to the regular semester abroad, there is the possibility of a double degree with some of the partner universities. Intensive student exchange thanks to around 150 incoming and outgoing students each year. International Week offers a varied programme of lectures and presentations with guests from our partner universities and opportunities for personal contacts. Internationally oriented courses (including by international visiting professors) and business languages are central components of the course programmes.

Document cameras and mobile smartboards are available in sufficient numbers. A Logistics laboratory with specialised technical equipment (KANBAN rack, RFID gate). The department has practical projects integrated into the curriculum as research projects, which are conducted jointly with student groups. The Master of Applied Research programme in materials management and logistics is a further special feature. There are also publications by all professors on various functional or industry topics in Business Administration, and an International Cooperative Doctoral thesis is currently underway on a blockchain / distributed ledger topic.
  • Support for founders
The Start-up Office deals with company start-ups that result from university(-related) projects and initiatives. The following measures are in place: Start-up consultation, start-up café; Lectures on Entrepreneurship, Lions Lecture Hall; Start-up coaching, establishment of contact network; support for funding applications. Furthermore, the specialisation module Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology Management offers students (enrolled in Business Administration) specialist insights into the "Implementation of Business Models".
  • Other special features
The faculty has set up a differentiated quality management system: each year of each degree program chooses year speakers who regularly exchange information with the dean of studies. A quality workshop of the faculty takes place once a semester with the speakers of the year and the student representatives. The results have been updated in a continuous time series and analysed critically for many years. The departmental magazine gP Business, published in German and English twice a year, serves the internal communication with students.
