Special features regarding teachingThe central profile element "Internationality" is reflected clearly in the teaching. This is shown by content with international relevance, the extensive range of business languages, the teaching of cross-cultural competence, as well as the obligatory or optional element of the period of study abroad at one of more than 150 partner universities. The widely differentiated study concept promotes specialisation as early as the application stage (functional, sectoral, and regional specialisation). The high practical orientation is lived out through lecture series or case studies.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationSeveral modules are taught in English and/or have content with a particularly international orientation. Guest students from foreign partner universities take part in the specialist modules taught in English and work out case solutions with the German students. Thanks to compulsory or optional stays abroad, for which the students are prepared by cross-cultural coaches as part of the curriculum, graduates will face a world of opportunities. The stay abroad includes an academic and practical semester abroad.
-
Exchange universities for stay abroadsUniversidad de Cuenca, Ecuador; University of Hertfordshire, Großbritannien; Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile; Vancouver Island University, Kanada; University of Hong Kong, China; Misr International University Kairo, Ägypten; Lebanese German University Beirut, Libanon; Universidade Federal do Ceará, Brasilien; Vaasan ammattikorkeakoulu (VAMK), University of Applied Sciences, Finnland; Ostfold University College, Norwegen.
-
Special features regarding the equipmentThe students can use approximately 100 computers, including extensive peripherals, in 5 PC rooms for teaching and self-study. All workstations are connected to the campus network, and have Internet access. In addition, the campus features a campus-wide wireless LAN. All course rooms have permanently installed projectors. There are extensive electronic library resources (over 6,000 e-books/journals) available. A VPN client enables access from the Internet to the intranet and the library's restricted resources.
-
Special features regarding research and developmentDegree programmes have various links to the faculty's research activities. In several institutes, professors and other academics work in the field of socio-economic research. This means that there is regular input for teaching and that there are opportunities for students to be involved in ongoing research projects. The topics of current research projects are brought to everyone interested in the faculty in various formats.
-
Support for foundersBRIDGE, the Bremen University initiative to promote entrepreneurial thinking, start-ups and entrepreneurship, provides a course programme focused on entrepreneurship. Interested parties are offered over 20 sessions each semester to develop and/or improve their start-up skills. The Bremen programme for company start-ups by students and Young Professionals (BRUT) support students shortly before the completion of their studies, alumni, doctoral graduates, academics qualified to teach at university, scientific staff and young professionals.
-
Other special featuresThe direction of the entire study programme is based on the concept and years of experience that prove that a range of different specialist courses structures can achieve an extraordinarily high level of identification amongst students and teachers with "their" course of study. This is proved by very stable figures for applicants, students and graduates over many years.
