  • Special features regarding teaching
    Teaching contents are founded in theory and also practice-oriented. Teaching takes place in small groups. Practical teaching involves lecturers from the respective professional environment and guest speakers from the practical field. Individual course schedule planning possible, promotion of teamwork through many projects. Three courses are dual with six business-specific stages each; International Business Administration includes two semesters in English; Working on case studies; MBA Aviation and Tourism Management: Fireside chats, business etiquette, three stays abroad.

    The share of incoming students was increased significantly in recent semesters. The Master's in Strategic Information Management provides for a simultaneous degree with an international MBA. Modules taught abroad are recognised for the contents on the basis of learning agreements.

    Seminar rooms with multimedia PCs and projectors; PC workrooms, laptops available for lending to students; Self-study centre, wireless coverage; App-based feedback system in some lectures.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    The faculty supports the application-oriented research and advisory activities of the professors. Six research institutes are based at the faculty. These institutes form the platform for various research, development and further education activities of the faculty and are also a platform for the exchange with regional industry on the further development of the courses on offer. Latest research findings are presented to interested parties in so-called Brown Bag seminars.

    IFE = Institute of the faculty: Active promotion and networking activities; Industry representatives in start-up-related seminars; Conducts applied research on entrepreneurship; Regular start-up-related events with cooperation partners; Contact point in terms of content with respect to EXIST scholarships; Organisation and content-based support of start-up/ideas competitions, IFE Founders Award, AppliedIdea ideas competition; Free consulting for university members (students, teachers, staff) planning a start-up with the involvement of the cooperation partner Wirtschaftspaten, an association.

    The gradual implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a key part of the university policy of the FRA UAS and is actively supported by the department through the participation of the Office for Student Affairs and interested professors in the expert group "Study and Disability". Leaflet for students about equalisation of disadvantages measures (especially extensions for exams). Together with the Disabilities Representative individual solutions are worked out in individual cases, such as individual tutorials for hearing-impaired students. Psychosocial support is available.

    Some regulations to ensure that the sexes are represented on bodies (primarily appointment committees) appropriately; Commitment to gender equitable behaviour in lectures and meetings; Promotion of lifelong learning; Support for "Family-Friendly University" activities; Large proportion of students with foreign roots.
