    Broad generalist education with the possibility of individual specialisation; in addition to imparting technical and scientific competence, also imparting language and intercultural competence as well as soft skills; high practical relevance; mandatory internship semester; optional semester abroad; many lecturers from practice; tutorials accompanying the lecture; professional and individual support from teachers; intensive use of teaching contacts for students, use of new media in the courses.

    Proximity to Luxembourg, meaning alignment to international financial markets and international fund business; many lecturers are "native speakers"; regular international excursions; very good contacts to China and USA; own international business office in the department, worldwide network at over 80 partner universities, intensive international student exchange.

    New PC pools, use of the PC pool in the data centre, intensive use of the e-learning platform Stud.IP, possibility for students to work from home at the University of Trier via VPN, server for Oracle, SAP, various modelling software, SPSS , MS Office, business simulation game Topsim, projectors and whiteboards in all lecture halls and seminar rooms, additional work rooms with a PC pool for students in the department, rental of tablets and projectors, cloud services such as Seafile, Datev or Unipark, literature management with Citavi.

    Application-related research projects and cooperations with companies and municipal public institutions, primarily in the areas of Trier, Saarland and Luxembourg, but also international projects. Students can participate in research in the framework of seminars, practical projects, final theses or by working as an academic assistant. Research sabbaticals for the professors are supported and used intensively, and the results are incorporated directly into teaching.
  • Support for founders
    Seminars on entrepreneurship are part of the courses offered by the business department. The Founders' Office at the Trier University supports start-ups through the communication of basic knowledge, funding advice, potential analysis of ideas and SWOT analysis of the founder, regular information sessions.
