Special features regarding teachingWide variety of options; Use of business simulations and software for quantitative methods; practical semester over 20 weeks; Diplom semester with seminar for Diplom candidates; Transition to the university's Master's programme; International Management at the TU-Dresden/Internationales Hochschulinstitut Zittau with accreditation of 30 credit points; Choice of foreign languages: English, Polish, Czech, Russian, Italian.

Special features regarding research and developmentFor current projects, the focus is on the energy industry, researching renewable energies and energy efficiency. Another focus is on risk management: here, applied risk measures are currently being developed, and credit risk models used in the industry improved further. All projects are financed with grants and involve students in the project work. 5 cooperative doctorates in the period 2013-2015.

Support for foundersFounders' Academy at the university provides active support for start-ups. Cooperation with young companies in the region as part of study projects.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsWe are a very small university. This is why we are best placed to support students with health problems. A professor of the department used to be the university's representative for people with disabilities. This has shaped the staff's attitudes. Individual advice and design of the course progress is provided. "Strength through diversity" university project; Barrier-free access to courses in most areas; further measures can be implemented as needed.
