Special features regarding teachingThe degree courses at the Faculty of Economics provide academic and methodological principles in all functional sub-areas of Business Administration. A permanent component is Business English. During the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses, students focus on various Business Administration specialisations and sectors. A choice can be made between Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Financing, Taxation and Auditing, Logistics, Business Informatics and Company Management as well as Energy, Hospital and Healthcare or the Transport Industry.
Special features regarding the international orientationThe objective is to encourage student exchange. To facilitate this, a module abroad and course-specific recognition modules have been integrated, which allows for more individual recognition. To raise awareness for opportunities abroad, there are regular information sessions, and additional attractive cooperation agreements are concluded with international universities. Students can turn to a staff member of International Consulting as well as a international representative (professor).

Special features regarding the equipmentThe students have an extremely well-equipped library and an excellent infrastructure (computer pools, language laboratory, project laboratories) available at the WHZ.
Special features regarding research and developmentPossibility of participation in research and development is available in the field of Applied Research at the Institute for Business Management and the Institute for Management and Information as well as at the technical institutes of the WHZ; The student project Formula Student/Racingteam (racing car construction), which allows research and development projects under supervision, has been very successful. 4 cooperative doctorates in the period 2013-2015.

Support for foundersStudents and graduates of the department who are interested in start-ups are advised by the founders' network SAXEED. Coupled with an extensive range of seminars on start-ups and individual advice and support, there is a start-up advisor/academic staff member who can contacted (www.saxeed.net).
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsAll the department's facilities provide barrier-free access. In collaboration with the course programme, sign language interpretation of lectures is provided for hearing-impaired students. In addition, students may contact the examination board to apply for equalisation of disadvantages (with a medical certificate). Students may also contact a representative for students with severe disabilities (liaison) and a staff member for social counselling.
Characteristics of diversity advancementThe university/department has a varied range of services for information, counselling and support (locating daycare, childcare rooms, etc.), assisting students who care for family members, with child care issues (including in the event of illness), as well as students with disabilities. Currently, the university is developing a diversity concept, and there is one working group: Diversity, Equal Opportunity, Family Friendly University, organising multi-day theme weeks on "diversity".
