  • Special features regarding teaching
The degree courses at the Faculty of Economics provide academic and methodological principles in all functional sub-areas of Business Administration. A permanent component is Business English. During the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses, students focus on various Business Administration specialisations and sectors. A choice can be made between Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Financing, Taxation and Auditing, Logistics, Business Informatics and Company Management as well as Energy, Hospital and Healthcare or the Transport Industry.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The objective is to encourage student exchange. To facilitate this, a module abroad and course-specific recognition modules have been integrated, which allows for more individual recognition. To raise awareness for opportunities abroad, there are regular information sessions, and additional attractive cooperation agreements are concluded with international universities. Students can turn to a staff member of International Consulting as well as a international representative (professor).

  • Support for founders
Students and graduates of the department who are interested in start-ups are advised by the founders' network SAXEED. Coupled with an extensive range of seminars on start-ups and individual advice and support, there is a start-up advisor/academic staff member who can contacted (www.saxeed.net).
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
All the department's facilities provide barrier-free access. In collaboration with the course programme, sign language interpretation of lectures is provided for hearing-impaired students. In addition, students may contact the examination board to apply for equalisation of disadvantages (with a medical certificate). Students may also contact a representative for students with severe disabilities (liaison) and a staff member for social counselling.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
The university/department has a varied range of services for information, counselling and support (locating daycare, childcare rooms, etc.), assisting students who care for family members, with child care issues (including in the event of illness), as well as students with disabilities. Currently, the university is developing a diversity concept, and there is one working group: Diversity, Equal Opportunity, Family Friendly University, organising multi-day theme weeks on "diversity".
