Special features regarding teachingFocus on teaching methodological (quantitative) and social skills; choice between four majors (Accounting, Financing, Controlling, Management, Corporate Processes, Cultural Management); mandatory accompanied practical and / or mobility semester; courses in small groups, very good supervision ratio; Integration of e-learning elements; regular lecture series by practitioners (Merseburg sessions) in teaching.

Special features regarding the international orientationIn July 2013 the HS Merseburg initiated and established the International Project Management Summer School for the first time. It is organised in different locations each year, in cooperation with the Cardiff Metropolitan University and University of Nicosia. Furthermore, the Economic Sciences department provides up to EUR 10,000 from the department's resources for scholarships to enable students to study abroad.

Support for foundersStart-up service of the HS Merseburg. It actively supports students, graduates and academic staff in their move towards independence and assists them throughout the entire start-up process: From the development of a corporate idea to business start-up and support during the growth phase. The start-up service is supported through funds of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and the European Social Fund. The start-up service of the Merseburg University works closely with partners in the Halle-Saalekreis founders' network.
