    English and Spanish language offers; opportunities to spend a semester abroad at around 80 partner universities in all continents; the International Business and Economics Bachelor or Master course includes a compulsory semester abroad; the Master’s course is entirely in English; many foreign guest lecturers.

    The department provides staff and students with free access to the scientific databases EBSCO, JURIS and Beck-Online. Technical facilities: Several lecture rooms (all with overhead projectors, microphone / loudspeaker system, VCR / DVD recorder); several seminar rooms (all with overhead projectors); two PC rooms (94 spaces) and mobile devices (projectors, notebooks, VCR / DVD recorders).

    Business start-up and Tourism; research projects: start-up research in South Thuringia, internationalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises in South Thuringia, cooperation opportunities to intensify innovation activities in small and medium-sized enterprises in South Thuringia, development of a monitoring system for corporate change. In addition, there are a number of other research projects, including ones in connection with cooperative doctorate programmes, e.g. Corporate Management and Control in innovative companies.

    The university is a member of the Entrepreneurship Network of Thuringia. This membership goes back to the initiative and research achievements of the Department of Economic Sciences. This is why great emphasis is placed on teaching entrepreneurship and support for students interested in starting a business.
