    The department provides staff and students with free access to the scientific databases EBSCO, JURIS and Beck-Online. Technical facilities: several lecture theatres (all with ceiling-mounted projectors, microphone/loudspeaker system, VCR/DVD recorders); several seminar rooms (all with ceiling-mounted projectors); two PC rooms (94 places) and mobile devices (projectors, laptops, VCR/DVD recorders).

    Start-Ups and Tourism; Research projects: start-up research in South Thuringia, internationalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises in South Thuringia, cooperation opportunities to intensify innovation activities in small and medium-sized enterprises in South Thuringia, development of a monitoring system for corporate change. In addition, there are a number of other research projects, including ones in connection with cooperative doctorate programmes, e.g. Corporate Management and Control in innovative companies. 1 cooperative doctorate in the period 2013-2015.

    The university is a member of the Entrepreneurship Network of Thuringia. This membership goes back to the initiative and research achievements of the Department of Economic Sciences. This is why great emphasis is placed on teaching entrepreneurship and support for students interested in starting a business.

    The department grants extended time for writing exams and/or separate exam sessions.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
    Due to the high percentage of international students in the Master's of International Business and Economics (90%), cultural diversity is a given. There are also an International Summer School and an international sports festival (also known as the Schmalympic Games).
