  • Special features regarding teaching
    In addition to the repeated basic seminars, a constantly changing broad spectrum of seminar topics is offered. The forms of teaching include simulations (e.g. World Model United Nations, negotiations on the final status of Kosovo), excursions (especially Brussels, Strasbourg, Ukraine), training research seminars, reading courses, international video conferences and the linking of seminars with conferences. Every semester, there are at least six English-language courses. Assistant professors from the field of Politics regularly enhance the range of courses offered.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    22 Erasmus partnerships; Incoming students receive intensive support; Outgoing students have a large selection of international partners at their disposal as well as good chances to obtain a place; Intensive support with regard to the recognition of course work. There is also a cooperation partnership with the National University Kiev-Mohyla Academy, which has been in place for ten years; In the joint MA programme ‘German and European Studies’, every winter semester is taught regularly by German professors in Kiev, and Kiev students spend one semester in Jena, which is also enriching for German students.
