Characteristics of diversity advancementFamily-friendly campus programme, nursery on the campus, liaison officer for lesbian, gay, transsexual students; PhD students come from different countries; Posts for research associates are allocated to different sexes wherever possible; To develop a diversity concept, the University of Passau holds round-table discussions, in which the department is involved. Since 01.10.2017 there has been a Vice-President for Quality Management and Diversity.

Other special featuresThe range of options and specialisations in the courses of study are large, choice of cultural areas in the Master's course, Comparative Governance Research, Comparative Political Cultural Studies Research, Ancient Political Philosophy, European focus, Foreign Policy Research, internationality expressed by structural partnerships: PPGG programme of the DAAD, DAAD project on Tunisia, Eastern Central Europe-related, execution of International Summer Academies with AT&Texas and Klausenburg.
