    Variety of options and specialisation opportunities for accessing related subject areas; Stays abroad are supported; Numerous well-organised placements in laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment support theory; Examples of content: Machine Components, Production Processing, Thermodynamics, Control Engineering, Construction (CA Methods, Simulation, Motive Power Engineering, Energy Engineering), Production (Production Planning, Logistics, Industrial Robots, Assembling Technology). Problem-based learning is practised by the university-wide projects Solar car (internationally successful!) and Cargo-Pedelec.

    Global network of companies in which students can complete a 20-week work placement abroad or write their final thesis. Every 2 years students can participate in a 2-week excursion to China. International Office to promote international mobility is unique at the Hochschule Bochum. Buddy supervision programme for students with foreign partner universities available (incoming students). Extensive supervision of students (outgoing students) in the organisation and implementation of a stay abroad (studies/work placement).
