Further information provided by the department

  • Special features regarding teaching
Practical relevance through lectures, symposia, excursions, projects and an advisory board made up of representatives of well-known companies in the region. Smaller semester and project groups, easy access to teaching staff and a very well-equipped library offer an ideal learning environment. The degree course has a broad design and is supported by numerous tutorials, additional benefits and the online learning platform ILIAS. Through the combination of teaching with research and practice, the students are given an ideal preparation for their later professional or academic careers.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The international focus is a key element of the Business Administration programme. Apart from consolidating their English skills in the Business English module, students in general studies have the possibility to learn further foreign languages. International Business can be selected as a specialisation in the 6th and 7th semesters, the modules of which are taught exclusively in English. Many incoming students attend the courses and events. What is more, the programme provides support for students who wish to do a semester or practical semester abroad (one professor acts as international advisor).
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Ramon Llull – La Salle in Barcelona, Spanien; Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, Finnland; Obuda University, Ungarn; University of Westminster, England; Napier University, Schottland.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
The lecture halls are equipped with state-of-the-art media technology (smartboards, visualisers). The laboratories and PC pools, with high-quality PCs and iMacs, also provide the ideal environment for work and there is always sufficient space. Numerous software products and ERP systems (SAP, Navision) and programs such as Adobe Creative Suite Design Standard and the complete Office package are available in the latest version. For the students, powerful laptops and iPads are also available to borrow. There is free access to licensed databases for academic work.
  • Support for founders
The department establishes a vibrant start-up culture through the Change Management-Entrepreneurship programme and the established School of Entrepreneurship. The aim is to teach students all the skills that will make them successful entrepreneurs. The project does not only communicate theoretical foundations, but also, and rather, it is the entire start-up process and skills improvement of entrepreneurs that are in the foreground. Students in small working groups are guided towards the various challenges of entrepreneurs.
