Special features regarding research and developmentThe research activities at the faculty are divided into research clusters and, in some cases, implemented via institutes. The research results are published via a separate journal series. The department is affiliated with the Institute of Commercial Management and Institute of Industrial Service Management; In addition, there is a research professorship at the Ifo Institute for Economic Research at the Munich University.

Support for founders"Start-ups" as a compulsory module/course in Bachelor's programmes, offered in cooperation with BayStartUP; Since 2016, partnership agreement between BayStartUP and OTH Amberg-Weiden, thus even closer cooperation; Students can consult with a start-up advisor at the department; Own research cluster on start-ups, entrepreneurship, succession planning and organisation, research findings of which are integrated into teaching.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsSupport for students with chronic mental impairments at the department and the entire university; In close coordination with the exam committee and representative for students with impairments (physical and mental), individual solutions are worked out that are fair and enable academic success under special circumstances; Students are provided with aids and advice and/or contacts regarding further contact points, barrier-free and low-threshold lecture contents, lecture notes and online platforms are being planned; Barrier-free website online since November.
