Special features regarding the equipmentThe SRH Heidelberg University has a modern university building with the best technical equipment (whiteboard, flipchart, projector, moderation walls, computer pool). All students have access to various software packages, including SPSS, Office 365 and scientific databases (including Statista, EBSCO Business Source Elite, Juris, Back-online).
-
Special features regarding research and developmentWe focus on application-oriented research. This is mainly carried out in cooperation with corporate partners and with the integration of students. This procedure can be seen as an example in the "Business Research Methods" event: For example, Decathlon commissioned our students in 2018 to raise brand awareness. In addition, our students write their theses in collaboration with renowned practice partners (SAP; Schwarz Group; Audi etc.). The faculty also regularly procures third-party funding for cross-border projects.
-
Support for foundersThe start-up institute of the SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg has existed since 2010. This is aimed at students, graduates (up to 5 years following graduation) and staff of SRH. At least one team member is supposed to be associated with the SRH (student, graduate, staff member, lecturer). In recent years the start-up institute has been able to successfully support student start-ups on a regular basis (including compleatfood, Simon & Bearns, My heart beats vegan).
-
Other special featuresAll courses are structured according to a unique study model – the CORE principle. The aim of the CORE principle is to teach key competencies – instead of pure technical knowledge – as effectively as possible. Therefore there are hardly any classic lectures; instead, the students tackle practice-based issues intensively in each module. The new study model focuses on active, independent learning and combines competence, knowledge and the joy of learning.
