Special features regarding the international orientationHigh proportion of English-language teaching (especially in the Master's); the university maintains an international office for coordination with numerous partner universities in over 30 countries; the International Office also helps with internships and projects abroad; the university is audited as: HRK audit "Internationalisation of Universities" (2012/13); the university operates its own language centre where a variety of foreign languages can be learned. Some of these language courses are compulsory.

Special features regarding research and developmentResearch projects, primarily carried out by doctoral academic students, in particular in the fields of Logistics, Marketing and Financial Management. Research staff (professors and academic staff) have combined to form centres of excellence in order to utilise synergy effects on similar research topics (e.g. Centre of Excellence FACT = Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Taxation).
