Special features regarding teachingThe department bases its research achievements on the theoretical guiding concept of "governance". This orientation is also reflected in the conceptual design of the degree courses and is based on "Financial Governance" and "Business Governance" in the area of Business Administration. This is reflected in the existence of four chairs focusing on Accounting, which will be strengthened by the endowed chair for "Corporate Ethics and Controlling". In the teaching, staff cooperate closely with the faculty's own chairs for Economic Law.
Special features regarding the international orientationFor the Bachelor's, there is an English-language "Business Economics" course that is geared specifically to international students. For the Master's, there are two double-degree courses, one of which is on Business Administration (International Financial Management).

Special features regarding research activitiesThe area of Economics focuses its research work on the theoretical keyword of "Governance". This offers a joint umbrella for the research activities, which is built on three pillars. Erich Gutenberg, who received his doctorate in Halle in 1921, was one of the pioneers in Business Administration and also began his academic career in Halle).
