The CTM programme is taught almost entirely in English. Two further foreign languages are offered as part of the curriculum.

Unique offering in the form of the "cruise tourism research", increased focus on empirical research methods in the final theses, approx. 100 publications. EU TEMPUS X project participation.

The department has set up the specialised course GIF (GIF = foundation, innovation, leadership). The university is also a member of BRIDGE, the start-up network of universities in the state of Bremen, whose extensive advisory, qualification and support offers for those interested in starting up are open to students in Bremerhaven.
