Further information provided by the department

  • Special features regarding teaching
Interactive teaching in manageable groups with a special focus on Finance and Management. The career-integrated course concepts of studying make it possible to balance study and profession in the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses. In-depth subjects and electives allow individual specialisation; The Master's programmes of the Frankfurt School, and half the programme variations in the BSc programme, are taught entirely in English. The proportion of international students is above average.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
As an integral part of the course, all Bachelor of Science students must complete at least one semester abroad. At the same time, the Frankfurt School welcomes visiting students. A growing proportion of courses is taught in English.
  • Common partner universities for exchange
Università Bocconi in Milan, Italy; BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, Norway; The University of Edinburgh, Scotland: IE University in Segovia, Spain; University-Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China; KEDGE Business School in Marseille, Paris und Bordeaux, France; Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia; Stellenbosch University, South Africa; HEC Montréal, Canada; The American University in Cairo, Egypt
  • Special features regarding the equipment
The Frankfurt School boasts a new, modern campus. All teaching rooms have modern IT equipment and modern seminar-room technology. WiFi is available throughout the campus. Course materials are provided via the university's own online campus; this is also used for communications with assistant professors and fellow students. Students have access to a large number of databases and information sources, such as Financial Lab with Reuters and Bloomberg terminals, and databases such as CRSP, Compustat, Amadeus and Datastream (via WRDS system).
  • Special features regarding research activities
The Frankfurt School is characterised by leading international research in the areas of Finance and Management. Thanks to the international and varied nature of its faculty, the Frankfurt School covers a broad spectrum of research topics. As a Business School, it places particular value in its research on the relevance of such research for practice and maintains continuous exchanges with high-quality international researchers and representatives of business.
  • Research topics reflected in teaching
The faculty is encouraged to present in each course current internal (or external) research findings briefly – this is, after all, one of the reasons for our research orientation. The Frankfurt School does not distinguish between seminars and lectures; most courses combine elements of both. As such, there are no highlighted research topics that are dealt with in separate courses.
  • Website with further information on research activities
  • Support for founders
The Frankfurt School supports its students in a variety of ways in connection with start-ups: Financial support is available, for instance, through the "Frankfurt start-up fund"; the student council provides office space; there is a link to the "incubator machine"; courses in innovation management and entrepreneurship; and a huge variety of consulting services offered by the faculty.
  • Other special features
The study contents at the Frankfurt School are state-of-the-art but also have a high relevance to current practice. Through the network of partner universities abroad, the Frankfurt School offers its students a variety of international perspectives. Due to innovative time models, most degree courses can be combined with a profession.
