Special features regarding teachingThe "Hohenheim model" is the central element of teaching. Building on a solid economic basis, the faculty's characteristically broad range of subjects enables scientifically sound inter-disciplinary and practice-related professional training and a variety of specialisation options for the support of individual interests. It also allows individual specialist knowledge to be applied in macroeconomic and social contexts.
Special features regarding the international orientationThe department has set itself the goal of increased internationalisation. The department's International Office provides advice on stays abroad, matters of credit recognition and dual-degree programmes. There is also an annual Summer School with further opportunities for international exchange. Not least, thematic networks with several support options are there to assist potential participants.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe department offers its scientists and young academics access to the data laboratory (DALAHO). Extensive, subject-specific national and international database include Bloomberg, Data-Stream and Sirca. A powerful server facilitates the quick evaluation of data sets in STATA 13 MP and R.
Special features regarding research activitiesThe research activities at the faculty are diverse and extensive. Apart from traditional research, there is also intra- and inter-disciplinary research of the individual chairs and specialist areas with university and non-university partners; research clusters and numerous research projects at all times.

Other special featuresThe Hohenheim CareerCenter supports the transition between studying and professional life. This facility provides contacts with trade and industry and addresses the area of the professional world through work placements, events and seminars on key qualifications. At the end of the course, graduates can be placed with companies. In addition, during a "space-for-learning semester", Bachelor's students have the opportunity to design their schedule of studies in an even more individual way in with a view to building their professional profile (e.g. work placements, career-entry courses).
