Special features regarding teachingSmall groups, many EDP-supported exercises, flexible teaching-learning models (including inverted classroom, problem-based learning, project studies), strong use of eLearning tools and online interaction with the lecturers and fellow students (based on Moodle and one own video platform), diverse forms of examination, guest lectures, strong practical and implementation orientation.

Special features regarding the international orientationThere are close ERASMUS partnerships with European and East-European partner universities. Students taking the Business Informatics Bachelor or Master thus have the option to complete a semester abroad in the 5th and/or 3rd semester. In addition, students benefit from English-taught courses and language courses (e.g. Chinese, Arabic, French) at our university. Students have the opportunity to take part in an exchange semester programme.

Special features regarding the equipmentVery good equipment with IT laboratories and special software tailored to the teaching: several ERP laboratories based on SAP S4 / HANA, laboratories for network and security management, Industry 4.0 and data analysis, systems process development and business simulation games, design thinking laboratory, strong cloud computing infrastructure for flexible provision of virtual desktops and virtual servers for the courses.

Special features regarding research and developmentThe research and transfer activities reflect the broad professional competence of the professors, lecturers and academies. Employees reflected. It bears mentioning the topic areas of digitalisation, SME 4.0, cloud computing, IT service orientation, semantic knowledge modelling, online marketing and the close integration with the teaching. Close integration of teaching with research projects and conferences, for example the German-speaking AKWI annual conferences, the annual security forum. Students can work on projects as academic assistants.

Support for foundersIntegration of two modules on start-ups in the Bachelor's in Business Informatics as well as start-up coaching as part of the project study from the 1st semester. Close cooperation on individual measures with the Centre for Start-Ups and Transfer.

Other special featuresIndividual care; modern equipment; intensive contacts with the economy; the orientation of the Master's program in Security Management is still unique in Germany and is also closely linked to the Bachelor's and Master's programs in Business Informatics.
