Special features regarding teachingVery good relationship between professors and students; working in small groups: projects 3 - 6 participants; integration of language training and foreign language courses in the course; specialist laboratory with specific applications and tools of Business Informatics to support practical relevance in teaching; high proportion of problem-oriented learning and collaborative learning in focus studies (from semester 4).

Special features regarding the international orientationEnglish-taught course of study (Bachelor) possible from the 4th semester. This includes a work placement abroad and can be combined with a semester abroad at one of the partner universities. The dual-degree Master's with the ITMO University in St. Petersburg, that is, students can earn two degrees in one course of study. In the Master, joint case study-based training with the Riga Technical University in the area of ERP systems as part of the e-business module.

Special features regarding the equipmentExcellent equipment with IT and ICT technology due to a new building (2012) and special funds for equipment (2014 and 2019); sufficient number of PC pools; specialist laboratory with typical tools of business informatics for modelling and system development; laboratory in enterprise modelling and enterprise architecture management; digital business model laboratory; multi-touch table for modelling; WiFi in all buildings; Internet in the dormitories; use of ERP software; E-learning platform.

Special features regarding research activitiesInstitutional and personal cooperation with leading international researchers from Sweden, Italy, Great Britain, Russia and Latvia in the fields of Business Modelling, Knowledge Modelling and Ontology Engineering; integration of guest lectures and self-organised international workshops in method training. Long-term cooperation with service companies and manufacturing industries that provide access to empirical data. Possibility of conference participation also for students. Networking with research-oriented summer schools of other universities.
