Special features regarding teachingPractical integration of students at the interface between Computer Science and Business, especially in the SAP training and analysis / interpretation of operational business data from ERP systems, taking into account the auditing tasks of auditors, tax consultants and auditors of the financial administrations. High proportion of blended learning. Largest range of courses at the virtual HS Bayern. Business Informatics can be studied on a basic and career-integrated basis. It is possible to switch between these courses of study without any major problems.

Special features regarding the international orientationAnnual specialist conferences within the framework of the DFDDA, including speakers from Germany and abroad. Participation in international conferences in (London, Vancouver and Dubai). Visiting professorships in different countries.

Special features regarding the equipmentUse of various software (SAP, dedicated audit software (ACL, DATEV) for the auditing professions, artificial intelligence, data mining, website measurement and analysis. The department has a network technology laboratory in which exercises on professional devices (switches and routers) can be carried out, as well as a usability laboratory.

Special features regarding research and developmentEEBDA ("Evidence-based decisions based on Big Data Analytics"), research cooperation at TU Munich, Uni-Passau, FH Würzburg, FH Landshut, TH Deggendorf); Internet of Things in teaching (AI and wearable devices to increase efficiency in teaching); IT project skills for humanities, social and linguistics - an integrated range of courses in the fields of Software Engineering, Usability Engineering and Project Management.

Support for foundersLecturers actively support students with spin-offs. Business incubator as an offer from the university.

Other special featuresInitiation of extra-curricular event. E.g. Winner in the competition "One university - one book" 2019 of the Stifterverband in cooperation with the Klaus Tschira Foundation. Good teamwork through regular Jour fixe appointments of the professors. There is a very active student association (Project-IT e.V.) that promotes mutual support for students during their studies. Project-IT also places students as consultants for companies in the region. Business Informatics students were honoured by Federal President Gauck for their efforts during the 2013 flood.
