Special features regarding teaching
Teaching in Halle is characterised by case studies, work in small groups on the PC, project and practical seminars and offers a broad training in basic and advanced Business Informatics. Particular focus is placed on "Methods for Simulation and Optimisation", "E-Business" and "Modelling of Business Processes", as well as on the faculty's key area "IT and Business Governance".
Special features regarding the international orientation
Students are given the opportunity to take part in international specialist conferences, implementation of the GPM module in Ethiopia, cooperation with Addis Ababa University.

Special features regarding the equipment
The faculty is equipped with several modern computer pools that are available to students in a variety of practical and project seminars but also outside of practice times, e.g. for modelling business processes, developing web interfaces or carrying out simulations.
Special features regarding research activities
Integration of students in ongoing research projects; this is done by integrating research, in particular in seminars and project seminars (e.g. KUBAS project and simulation of spontaneous helpers) or exercises (e.g. didactically innovative methods for learning research methods in Business Informatics). In addition, many theses are embedded in research projects.
Other special features
Business Informatics has a long tradition in Halle and already established the first course in German-speaking countries in 1968. The department is now heavily involved in the thematic business and IT governance research at the faculty, in which responsible digital innovation and change are at the centre of cooperation. The department focuses both in research and teaching on the theory-based basics of applications and less on basic research.
