  • Special features regarding teaching
    Independent course to introduce the professional field; The department maintains a range of services to optimise study paths through a network to boost skills in Mathematics and enhance students' writing and information skills.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    The International Academic Office of the FH Bielefeld advises students on study visits abroad and financing options and places them at foreign partner universities. The EU programme LEONARDO DA VINCI is also available to promote work placements of graduates in EU countries. Grants for visits abroad by students (e.g. ERASMUS), graduates, lecturers and non-academic employees are available from various programmes, including the education programmes of the European Union.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    State-of-the-art laboratory equipment and devices, also characteristic are engineer-specific software tools for all students (CAD, simulation, Computer Science) and laboratory equipment specifically tailored to the needs of small groups.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    The department ensures that research projects are staffed with interdisciplinary positions and that the participating academics collaborate at an interdisciplinary level.
  • Support for founders
    The Bielefeld Initiative for Business Start-Ups (BIfU) is a partnership of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) of East Westphalia in Bielefeld. This initiative has offered lectures on start-up-relevant topics since the 2014/15 winter semester. There are also monthly start-up consultation days in Bielefeld and Minden. Potential entrepreneurs can obtain individual advice directly on site by Chamber of Commerce and Industry staff.
