    In the Bachelor, individual setting of specialisations in the areas of Software / Modelling, IT Management / Company Founding and Network / Security possible; application-oriented project and practice-oriented case study in the last academic year; extensive freedom of choice in the Master; possibility of acquiring practice-relevant certifications (for example for SAP or IT management) accompanying the degree; bilingual Master's programme (German / English); own international exchange network IS: link with over 20 partner universities; own teacher for mathematics events.

    Comprehensive network of partner universities; increasing number of English-language courses; regular courses from renowned guest researchers from abroad. A semester abroad is possible via a mobility window without a delay in studying.

    The University of Duisburg-Essen has combined the numerous measures in the IDE competence centre for innovation and start-ups. There are dedicated courses related to e-entrepreneurship or e-intrapreneurship; the development of business plans is discussed in seminars ("start-up camp"), projects and theses, and own ideas can be developed and discussed; student start-up projects are encouraged and supported; in addition, the university offers additional services to which reference is made.
