Special features regarding research and developmentA large number of third-party funded projects reflects the research strength of the subject. Research into Gender Studies, Education in Childhood, the Elderly, Society, Participation and Civil Society is particularly prevalent. All degree courses are characterised by a focus on research. In the Bachelor of Social Work, research methods are introduced in an introductory manner and applied in their own empirical study projects. The Master's degree in Social Work is explicitly research-oriented. The cooperation between the university's teaching and research network (FIVE) takes place consistently.

Other special featuresHigh proportion of professors from Social Work, interdisciplinary teaching, consistent orientation to questions of social work. Excellent supervisory ratio. Good networking with local (practice) partners and local actors. Interlinking between practical and theoretical semesters, careful practical support.
