  • Special features regarding teaching
    Practical teaching with experienced teachers, guest lectures and company visits, especially with companies in the automotive industry at home and abroad. Possibility of a double degree with Finland. External projects and student research projects with companies from one of the most economically strong regions in Germany. Practical laboratory work with procedures, methods and tools that are used in the automotive industry. Small learning groups with intensive, direct contact between teachers and students.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    English language lessons from the 4th semester. Possibility of a specialisation abroad at a partner university. Possibility of double degree studies with Finland. Semesters abroad at partner universities in over 30 countries are possible. The university is audited: HRK-Audit internationalisation of universities (2012/13). The university operates its own language centre where students can learn a variety of foreign languages. There are 15 ETCS language courses in English in the course. Numerous incoming students in the English language lectures.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    IT labs with the latest software for business games, simulations, business software and technical software, for example: for vehicle programming and autonomous driving. Hardware automotive laboratory e.g.: for events on electromobility, supply chain management and vehicle programming. Award-winning library with access to online databases. Use of e-learning using the Moodle platform.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    Research projects funded by doctoral candidates, Competence Centres on specific topics such as Data Science. Research work with companies from the region and numerous Bachelor theses with companies from the automotive industry.
  • Support for founders
    Regular events at the university: Career Night, Mittelstandsforum, free start-up advice in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce. Seminar series of key competencies. Innovation Space with facilities for the prototypical realisation of business ideas. Infrastructure for start-ups is provided free of charge for up to six months. Advice on funding programs from the federal government, the federal states, etc. from the university.
