Special features regarding teachingIndependent, self-reflective, explorative, research-oriented as well as practical and project-related learning; personal contact between students and lecturers (easy accessibility); personal, learning-promoting atmosphere; small study groups; extensive support and counselling in all study phases (mentoring by teachers and students); advice and support from foreign office / commissioned; extra-curricular offers; one-week excursion with visit to an institution in Germany and abroad; international campus; Summer school; lecturers with practical experience.

Special features regarding the international orientationErasmus University Charter; DAAD / Promos programmes; Bachelor: 15-20 outgoings each winter semester, who do the practical parts of their studies abroad (100 practical days study project 2 in the 5th semester), funding for internships in partner organisations and NGOs worldwide possible (Engagement Global, Promos). In the Master's program, study stays at the end of the 3 semester and the beginning of the 4th semester (research project 18 cps) are possible. Structural simplifications for international mobility have been put in place for these time periods. 36 cps English-language courses, approx. 15 incoming students per year with supervision.

Special features regarding the equipmentRedesign of all seminar rooms (high standard equipment with projector, internet access etc.); new Audimax with max. 300 seats; disabled access; PC pools; networked library (online research and ordering); intranet platform with campus management system (access from home work station possible); WiFi in all rooms, research software in the PC room and research infrastructure.

Special features regarding research and developmentInitial study phase with a learning research project in the Bachelor; 2 research-oriented consecutive Masters "Network Management in Social Work" and "Participation-oriented Networks in Curative Education". Institute for Participation Research, research focus "Networks in Social Work" and "Education and Diversity"; connection to the centre for research funding and further education, participation of students in research and practical projects commissioned by practice as well as in publications; Transfer network social innovation with network partner EvH Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe.

Other special featuresMember of the Best Practice Club "Family in the University" (studying with a child / relatives in need of care), parent-child room, service office for students; concept of religious diversity (cooperation with KSHG Münster and ESG Münster) - with simultaneous opening to other religions. Concept for promoting university involvement and self-administration, intensive university life (matriculation and graduation ceremony, cultural evening, summer party, reading evenings etc.). Practice office, international office and international office, alumni work with approx. 500 addressees; refugee work; development association.
