Support for foundersFor ten years now, potential start-ups of innovative companies have been promoted in the Jackstädt-Zentrum Flensburg (JZF), part of Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, through existing expertise. With the Dock1 start-up support incubator of the cross-border ‘VentureWærft’ umbrella brand and other third-party funding projects, JZF has a wealth of experience in the areas of academic, green, interdisciplinary and women’s entrepreneurship. According to the latest start-up radar survey [Gründungsradar], the start-up support concept based in Flensburg is very successful and ranks 6th of 55 among small universities.
-
Other special featuresFabLab ideas: High-tech workshop with 3D printers and laser cutters in which students can try out their ideas alone or under supervision. Workshops on equipment operation are offered on a regular basis; TechShop TestUp: Facility with an array of production machines on which students can try out approaches to production and manufacturing engineering and apply these through to pilot-series production. The TechShop supports the start-up activities of the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences; SPS laboratory: Cooperation with the Bachmann company for curricular and independent student projects

(S)-Students' judgements (F)-Facts (P)-Professors' judgements
(ME)= Mechanical Engineering (IntDiscip)= very interdisciplinary and thus not classified;
As the ranking is done for the whole subject area, for the single "sub-subjects" it can happen that not all rank groups are represented in all criteria.
