-
Special features regarding the equipmentTo ensure outstanding teaching and research, numerous laboratories and facilities with modern equipment are available, such as: IMP – Manufacturing Engineering and Production department, Institute of Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Environmental Technology (IKKU), Bionics Laboratory, Robotics Laboratory, Institute for Energy-Efficient Mobility, Plastics Engineering Laboratory, Microcomputer Engineering Laboratory, Quality Management Laboratory, Sensor and Actuator Engineering Laboratory, Materials Testing Laboratory, clean room, Acoustics Laboratory, Institute for Mechatronic Systems, Digital Electronics Laboratory, etc.
-
Special features regarding research and developmentMany of the laboratories are used for teaching AND research (e.g. Refrigeration Laboratory, wind tunnel, combined heat and power plants), laboratory equipment is therefore competitive and modern; Active involvement of students in research projects, especially in the Master's degree course (research assistant/part-time in multi-semester projects), increasing proportion of internal theses; Professors included in the BW CAR quality instrument , focus is applied research in cooperation with small and medium-sized companies, currently more than 30 doctorates in progress

(ME)= Mechanical Engineering (IntDiscip)= very interdisciplinary and thus not classified;
As the ranking is done for the whole subject area, for the single "sub-subjects" it can happen that not all rank groups are represented in all criteria.
