  • Special features regarding teaching
The balanced range of modules, in German and English, during the first four semesters in technical, business and cross-cultural subjects ensures an ideal foundation for stays abroad integrated into the course of study. This one-year stay abroad, which is designed as a compulsory part, consists of a semester at a foreign university and an internship abroad and is a special feature of the course, which offers graduates a significant competitive advantage in the labour market.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
Several modules are taught in English and/or have content with a particularly international orientation. The English-taught subject modules at the HSB see the participation of visiting students from international partner universities who work with German students on finding solutions to case studies. Thanks to one year abroad, for which the students are prepared by cross-cultural coaches as part of the curriculum, graduates will face a world of opportunities. The stay abroad includes an academic and practical semester abroad.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
The students can use 100 PCs including extensive peripherals in 5 PC rooms for teaching and self-study. All workstations are connected to the campus network, and have Internet access. In addition, a comprehensive wireless LAN is available on the campus. All course rooms have permanently installed projectors. There are extensive electronic library resources. Students and university lecturers are provided with more than 20,000 electronic full-text journals and 5,000 e-books in the campus network; Access from home is also possible.
  • Special features regarding research and development
The degree course dovetails with the research activities of the faculty. In several institutes, professors and other academics work in the field of socio-economic research. This means that there is regular input for teaching and that there are opportunities for students to be involved in ongoing research projects.
  • Support for founders
BRIDGE, the Bremen University initiative to promote entrepreneurial thinking, start-ups and entrepreneurship, provides a course programme focused on entrepreneurship. Interested parties are offered over 20 sessions each semester to develop and/or improve their start-up skills. The Bremen programme for company start-ups by students and Young Professionals (BRUT) support students shortly before the completion of their studies, alumni, doctoral graduates, academics qualified to teach at university, scientific staff and young professionals.
