  • Special features regarding teaching
    Bachelor's course: Broad cross-industry basic Engineering, Business and Economic education, high proportion of exercises, quantitative profile of Economics; Master's degree: three branches of study – Production and Processes, Energy and Raw Materials and Materials Technologies in Future-Oriented Fields. Dovetailing of Economic and Engineering Science content through interface subjects such as Project Management, Material Flow and Logistics, Electricity Management or Energy Economics.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Internationalisation is a key issue for TU Clausthal. Around 30% of students and 20% of academic staff come from abroad. Collaborations in research and teaching and student exchanges have been agreed with around 150 partners all over the world. The International Centre Clausthal (IZC) is the central office for all international matters and language skills.

    Tallinn University of Technology, Estland; Universidad de Huelva, Spanien; Tampere University of Technology, Finnland; Chinesisch-Deutsches Hochschulkolleg, Shanghai/China; Kanagawa University, Yokohama/Japan.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Lecture theatres are equipped with the latest technology. PC pools, lively places of learning, as well as well-equipped university and institute libraries are available for student use. High level of IT infrastructure at the University and the student halls of residence. The technical institutes possess modern laboratories, work halls and extensive equipment including large-scale machinery.
  • Special features regarding research activities
    The competencies of the Clausthal University of Technology are focused on four research fields, which are closely interlinked, under the motto of sustainable resource management. The institutes of the Faculty of Energy and Economics are particularly active in the fields of "Sustainable Energy Systems" and "Raw Material Security and Resource Efficiency".
  • Support for founders
    The Office of Technology Transfer and Research Promotion offers a founders' service. The service comprises the following: Business idea (product, market potential), personal skills and further training needs, status of start-up (previously undertaken steps), assistance in preparing a business plan, information about funding opportunities, recruitment of suitable partners. This is supplemented by modular courses, such as lecture series "Start-Ups and Corporate Management", informal gatherings of entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurs’ forum.
  • Other special features
    First-semester events and preliminary Mathematics courses are offered. Intensive supervision can be ensured thanks to the excellent staff-student ratio. There is a mentoring tutor program; a lot of exercises and tutorials are offered; students can be involved in applied research projects.
