  • Special features regarding teaching
    Professors with practical experience, group sizes in lectures: 80 students, groups in exercises and computer labs: 20 students, OPAL as educational server for document management and e-learning programmes, integration of current corporate tasks in the lectures, very large number of professors in the lecture curriculum to ensure a very broadly structured training programme, extensive utilisation of lab practicals and simulation games, basic SAP training.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    150 student places at 68 international partner universities are available; The courses of study each include a mobility window to allow as many students as possible to study abroad.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Two computer labs with all MS Office products, incl. MS Project and MS Visio; Software for Monte Carlo simulations; various SAP modules; software such as DATEV, Lexware and ARIS; laboratory for Ergonomics; laboratory for Process and Methodological Skills (planned); Library with reference literature and extensive e-books and academic database services; Lecture rooms are designed to also cater for small groups.

    Centre for Medium-Sized Enterprises for the integration of related subjects in research and teaching, research field and research laboratory for Ergonomics, integration of ERP system in medium-sized companies, Social Media applications in companies, participation in the research projects of the faculties of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (particularly Electromobility), Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering, research cooperations with universities in Eastern Europe.

    Each semester, there are courses such as "The Practice of Start-Ups", involving the preparation of business plans of founders from academia and Dresden; Course on "Start-up-Oriented Business Administration"; "Business Idea Slam" event for presenting start-up ideas; Partners of Dresden Exists; Networking with regional chambers, initiatives, universities; Organisation/management and equipment of university's own incubator.

    As part of the inclusivity strategy, various measures are implemented to support students with health problems: Including infrastructure for people with hearing impairments (hearing loop in lecture halls, COBRA software), visual impairments (screen reader, COBRA software, barrier-free website) and limited mobility (movable tables in lecture halls, barrier-free access, evacuation). Possibility of special conditions for exams, counselling by Dresden student services and student union as well as inclusivity representative, the university's representative for students with severe disabilities.

    Ethical aspects enshrined in research, teaching, administration. Participation in Girls Day Support for the visually impaired: Portable screen reader, software for speech output. Some tenders are posted in English. Integration of external international lecturers in teaching. International Summer Schools. Support for associations like faranto. Teaching and living a culture of acceptance.
