    Relevant ET more than 120 years of experience as a subject at university; integration with local research institutions and with business / industry; high research relevance and practical feedback = best research-oriented study conditions including attractive participation for students (especially in the Master) in research projects; high individual support during studies; very great freedom of choice in studying; high proportion of ET; very trusting cooperation between teachers / students; real combination of Economics and ET parts with both ways of thinking / acting.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    High proportion of non-educational students and non-educational academic staff (doctoral students); The proportion of foreign students in the faculty (ET and WI.Ing.ET) is around 19%. For academic staff, it is around 15%. More than 30 (!) nations (from Europe and beyond) are represented. Dissertations can also be written in English. Another special feature: Highly renowned in the international science community – as a result, many international research partners (science and industry).

    Good and high-quality laboratory and technology facilities with high level of investment, e.g. modern clean room laboratories, modern equipment with DP incl. current licences, literature stock fully up-to-date (also available electronically), large number of highly modern student workstations in institutes, numerous student laboratory workstations (= no waiting in the laboratories), modern (periodically updated) student work placements, numerous tutor groups, equipment allows for high-quality research (=cf. research success, research infrastructure overall very good to excellent.

    Cutting-edge research at the institutes - Electrical Engineering at the TU Braunschweig has been involved in three excellence clusters of the Excellence Initiative of the federal and state governments since 2019 - hence excellent funding in the coming years; Research Alliance with LUH and PTB / DLR; high acceptance of the EIT by public research funding institutions (national / international; remarkable ratio (recurring for more than 30 years) origin third party funds; approx. 70% publicly assessed funds to approx. 30% industrial funds.
  • Support for founders
    Participation in entrepreneur initiatives of TUBS – also with external partners and other universities. Support (professorship) in initiatives for the founding of graduates (successfully proven several times); support with the start-up of spin-off companies (e.g. temporary use of space etc.).
  • Other special features
    Very close cooperation with PTB (= Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, from 2015 joint appointments, joint graduate schools, training, and joint junior research groups); participation in interdisciplinary research centres - also in joint sponsorship with industry (Nds. Vehicle Research, Laboratory for Emerging Nanomaterials); high level of internationality among (M.Sc.-) students and academic staff.
