Special features regarding the international orientationBachelor's degree in International Industrial Engineering, in which one semester at a partner university abroad and another semester abroad are mandatory; exchange with students from our English-language Master’s courses.

Special features regarding research and developmentStudents are involved in research projects at the faculty (as student assistants, project and final theses, doctorates): current topics include applied fluid mechanics; Automotive Engineering and Mechanical Engineering; Regenerative and Alternative Energies, Autonomous Robotics and Clean Room Technology; modern manufacturing processes; lightweight construction through fibre composite material; multi-dimensional metal forming; additive manufacturing (3D printing), health and medical technology; innovative marketing; gender research; applied information / communication technologies.
Support for foundersHOST operates its own start-up service. This provides advice on founding, funding program and, if applicable, joint application for programs such as EXIST (BMWi) in cooperation with the research association MV e.V. HOST also organises a two-stage ideas competition "INSPIRED - The ideas competition. in MV.” with partners from MV. This includes workshops (including patent registration, company formation, business plan). Furthermore, HOST cooperates with the - MakerPort Stralsund - the innovation hub for creative doers and with IT ideas with IT-Lagune e.V.
Other special featuresWe have a very high practical relevance: approx. 90% of the theses are processed in industry and thus form an effective entry into professional life.
