Special features regarding teachingHighly topical course content from the fields of Business Administration (especially in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Social Media, Online Marketing and Relationship Marketing), Business Informatics (in particular Business Process Management and IT Service Management) and Computer Science (in particular Business Intelligence, Web-Based or Mobile Systems and Software Engineering). The topic of Project Management supports an inter-disciplinary approach (in particular, the management of IT projects), which is implemented in particular through practical projects in cooperation with companies.
Special features regarding the international orientationStudents are expected to spend one semester abroad. Practical semesters abroad are also possible. All courses in the sixth semester are taught in English (lectures, projects with presentations and seminars).

Special features regarding the equipmentModern server computers and desktop computers with up-to-date software for teaching, research and project work, in IT labs. Students can also use specific software installed on the notebooks available for use, for the purpose of projects. The virtualisation of available software is complete, so that students are able to access applications without space or time constraints. For the development of mobile applications on the web, various mobile devices with the most diverse operating systems are available (Apple iMacs, Windows phones, Android phones and iPads).
Special features regarding research and developmentCorporate processes management and analysis, IT governance, Web 2.0 and Web 3D, mobile applications (including iPhone apps), as well as business software such as Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Customer Relationship Management systems, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) systems. Research into and development of reference models as a core discipline of Business Informatics Management concepts and tools in the field of Strategic Company Management. Relations Management in the field of Customer, Supplier or Partner Management as well as Social Media Management.

Support for foundersThe Career Centre offers relevant support services (such as development of business plans). Entrepreneurship competitions are advertised and promoted.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsIn cooperation with the course guidance coordinator, the dean of students and the exam committee (and further central institutions), ways and means are identified and created to ensure that students with chronic impairments can complete their studies according to the course and exam regulations.
Characteristics of diversity advancementIndividual coaching, identification of central support options. High percentage of students with a migration background, integration of students with project and study groups. Courses in English to keep language barriers to a minimum.
Other special featuresHigh level of practical relevance in teaching through the analysis and concept design of current topics in Business Informatics by students as part of seminars and project studies. This fosters collaboration, especially with regional companies. This helps to promote an early link to company contacts and work placements as well as permanent positions, thereby increasing career prospects. Seminars and projects have consistently small group sizes and correspondingly, individual grant options are provided by several partners.
