  • Special features regarding teaching
    BSc Business Administration: The degree course offers classical training in Business Administration with specialisation in decision-oriented Business Administration and interface subjects in neighbouring disciplines. MSc Technical Business Administration (TBWL): Students acquire skills at the interface between the commercial and the chosen technical area. To a certain extent, the students are introduced to current research questions in the Economic and Engineering / Natural Sciences, and their specialisation enables them to make technically sound management decisions later in their careers.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Internationalisation is a key issue for TU Clausthal. Around 30% of students and 20% of academic staff come from abroad. Collaborations in research and teaching and student exchanges have been agreed with around 150 partners all over the world. The International Centre Clausthal (IZC) is the central office for all international matters and language skills.

    IST Lisboa, Portugal; Tallinn University of Technology, Estland; Tampere University of Technology, Finnland; CDHK, Shanghai, China; Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia; Kanagawa University, Yokohama, Japan.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Lecture halls are equipped with the latest technology, and a multimedia lecture hall is available for recording and broadcasting events. PC pools, lively learning venues and well-equipped university and institute libraries are available for student use and there is a high level of the university's IT infrastructure and residencies. The computer center and university library provide access to subject-specific databases and software packages.
  • Special features regarding research activities
    The competencies of the Clausthal University of Technology are focused on four research fields, which are closely interlinked, under the motto of sustainable resource management. The institutes of the Faculty of Energy and Economics are particularly active in the fields of "Sustainable Energy Systems" and "Raw Material Security and Resource Efficiency".
  • Support for founders
    The Office of Technology Transfer and Research Promotion offers a founders' service. The service comprises the following: Business idea (product, market potential), personal skills and further training needs, status of start-up (previously undertaken steps), assistance in preparing a business plan, information about funding opportunities, recruitment of suitable partners. In addition, there are modular events such as the lecture series "Business start-up and management", the SNIC innovation academy, the founders “table and the founders” forum.
  • Other special features
    The range of freshers' events and preliminary courses in Mathematics facilitates the introduction to the degree course. Due to the excellent student-teacher ratio, supervision is intensive and a mentoring programme is offered with individual supervision by one of the professors within the faculty. For almost all lectures in the curriculum, exercises are planned and there are online tutorials and correction sessions for voluntary homework that run parallel to lectures. Students benefit from their involvement in application-oriented research projects.
