In addition to sound methodological training in psychology, the degree course focuses on vocational training. There are four compulsory fields in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, pedagogical psychology and occupational and & organisational psychology. Interdisciplinarity and interprofessionality are key areas of focus because of the full-time lecturers from psychology and the joint campus with the SH university hospital. Students can go on a semester abroad and are encouraged to do so.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
2015/2016 - Internationalisation audit of the Rectors' Conference (University of Lübeck), "Internationalisation of universities" certificate; The guiding principle is to promote and support student mobility at all times. ERASMUS+ programme with 15 universities; All lecturers also do research, which is why student participation in national and international research projects is possible and encouraged.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
Many classes use discussion forums, wikis and especially Moodle, the university's internal teaching and learning platform, in order to intensify contact between teachers and learners, and among students.
  • Special features regarding research activities
All course lecturers are also active in research. As a result, student participation in national and international research projects is possible and encouraged. The mandatory internship can be done in many of the research groups (labs) of the Institute of Psychology, the Clinic for Neurology or the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
  • Other special features
While the main focus of the degree course is on subject-specific specialist skills, skills from other areas are also actively taught.
