Access to major international research institutions, e.g. Spring-8 (Kyoto), ILL (Grenoble), SNS (Oak Ridge, USA). Option to participate in international conferences for advanced students and doctoral candidates.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
Students receive early access to the modern large-scale equipment at the faculty, accompanied by courses on methods used in Chemistry. The faculty has service units for mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy, and one NMR device is explicitly provided for practical teaching. Further large-scale equipment includes various X-ray diffractometers, ESR spectrometers, laser systems, AFM units and Mössbauer spectrometers, as well as self-built units which students can use for their final theses. Cell culture lab, databases, campus licenses for various software. CIP room.
  • Support for founders
The faculty's start-up officer advises those interested in starting a business, the faculty's participation in the SüdniedersachsenInnovationsCampus, patenting and spin-off advice via the MBM Science Bridge. Certificate of the university on the topic of "Entrepreneurship" and can be selected and credited in the key competence area of the chemistry degree courses.
  • Other special features
Compulsory tutor in school for exercise/seminar group supervision as well as for internships with voluntary advanced modules. IT infrastructure with a student computer pool as well as access to campus licenses (Microsoft, Origin, ChemDraw) and SciFinder also for students, accompanying courses and advice in the computer café. The "virtual lab" and video tutorials teach basic techniques used in Chemistry in the form of short films.
