  • Special features regarding teaching
    Very broad and in-depth basic training in all areas of chemistry (AC, OC, PC/TC), all of which are covered by a broad spectrum of lecturers; specialisation by choosing appropriate elective modules from the 2nd semester onwards. Master semester; consistently research-based and research-related, a large proportion of practical work (particularly in the Master's degree course) is completed directly in the study groups.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Master's degree course in English; internationally composed working groups; regular publication of research results in internationally renowned journals; possibility of a stay abroad during studies, several Leibniz Prize winners (most recently in 2015: Prof. Grimme, Theoretical Chemistry).
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Excellent equipment due to continuously high third-party funding; very many analytical methods are available on site and can be used at short notice; sufficient laboratory places for all students, no waiting times; laptop subsidy for higher semesters.

    Transdisciplinary orientation and networking in teaching and research (e.g. with pharmacy, physics and biochemistry).
