Special features regarding teachingThe degree course provides broad training in all areas of chemistry, incl. analytical and technical chemistry as majors as diploma degree; this provides a basis for many professional fields; university profile is taken into consideration; research groups of the department are involved early and throughout the course; exam complexes test contents of several modules; exam preparation to consolidate knowledge and complex issues are broken down into their constituents; self-assessment and assessment of level of knowledge in the form of pre-examination

Support for foundersStart-up faculty, Institute of Technical Chemistry very active in spin-offs in Chemical Technology field (manufacturing industry), known nationwide for lively spin-off activities, 2 spin-off projects in progress (PARFORCE and RMF), of which PARFORCE founded in Nov. 2017, comprehensive support from the faculty (organisation, administration, space), institute passes on knowledge of spin-offs within the university and in student training (e.g. in the international Master’s degree programme SINReM), spin-offs all externally funded
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsfour students with health impairments (vision and hearing) are currently studying in the department; individual solutions are provided to meet their requirements, with the faculty receiving support from the advice and counselling office of Studentenwerk student services
Characteristics of diversity advancementclose cooperation with the university’s International Centre, support for foreign students is provided by mentors and tandem programmes, possibility of accommodating Russian and Chilean doctoral students in particular in "Lomonossow-Haus” and “Chile-Haus-Freiberg"
